Sherbert marijuana strains are quite popular due to their interesting flavor profiles, mainly because they can be fairly sweet.

The combination of sweet berries and citrus zest always tastes nice. Although it depends on the exact lineage or crossbreed, most Sherbert strains feature a balanced combination of sativa and indica.

That said, the original Sherbert strain is not the only one out there, as there are many crossbreeds. Today, we want to take a look at all of these, so let’s get to it and take a look at the best Sherbert strains out there.

Key Takeaways

  • Sherbert strains are characterized by their enticing flavor profiles, which are predominantly sweet.
  • The original Sherbert strain is believed to come from a combination of Girl Scout Cookies and Pink Panties.
  • Most Sherbert strains are indica or indica-dominant. However, a few do offer more sativa-like experiences.

Sherbert Strains Lineage

As mentioned above, Sherbert is a hybrid type of cannabis, one that is slightly indica dominant. There are two specific strains that were used to create this strain, including Girl Scout Cookies and Pink Panties.

Pink Panties is an indica strain that features low to moderate THC levels, usually around 16%, with a very smooth and citrusy smoke.

We then have Girl Scout Cookies, which is an indica-dominant hybrid strain with moderate THC levels, usually around 19%, combined with a sweet cherry, lemon, and minty flavor.

Is Sherbert Indica or Sativa?

Because both of the parent strains of Sherbert are indica-dominant, with one being fully indica, Sherbert is a very indica-heavy strain with some light sativa effects. The vast majority of effects you will feel from this strain come from the indica side of things, with just a hint of that sativa-like euphoric head high.

Regarding different Sherbert weed strains, how far they lean to either side, indica or sativa, will depend on the other strains that the Sherbert itself is mixed with.

Best Sherbert Strains

Let’s now take a look at some of the most common and popular Sherbert strains out there and roughly what you can expect from them.

Sunset Sherbert Strain

To be clear, sunset Sherbert is sometimes referred to simply as Sherbert, or Sherbert OG. In other words, this is technically the original Sherbert strain.

Once again, this strain is made by mixing Girl Scout Cookies with Pink Panties. It has a very powerful full-body high and slight cerebral head highs brought on by the sativa side of things.

It features a moderate THC level of 18%, and it features a very sweet and dessert-like flavor that features a sweet berry, skunky citrus, and candy-like flavor.

Mango Sherbert Strain

Mango Sherbert is made by mixing Sherbert, Mango Kush, and Mango Trees, therefore resulting in an indica-dominant strain that features a very strong mango-like, fruity, and berry-like flavor.

It features a fairly low THC level of 17%, although it does contain a good deal of CBG. This is an indica-dominant strain, so it will make you feel a bit sleepy and heavy; although it also has some sativa-like effects, it will make you feel a bit creative and talkative first.

Sherbert Cake Strain

The Sherbert Cake strain is actually just the original Sherbert strain, also known as Sunset Sherbert, Sherbert OG, or simply Sherbert. Don’t get confused, as these terms are often used interchangeably.

Blue Sherbert Strain

The Blue Sherbert strain is made by crossing Blue Cookies and Sunset Sherbert. These buds are very beautiful, as they have purple hues combined with a lime green body. In terms of the flavor profile, here you will get very sweet notes that resemble blueberry, citrus, and all sorts of awesome dessert foods.

Due to the genetics here, this strain is slightly more balanced in terms of indica and sativa, with many of the effects, especially when first consumed, being from the sativa side of things. However, the indica effects will kick in fairly soon.

Keep in mind that this strain features a fairly moderate to high THC level of 19%, therefore making it ideal for most people.

Strawberry Sherbert Strain

Here we have one of the few Sherbert strains that is sativa dominant. This is a hybrid strain, roughly 70% sativa, made by crossing Rainbow Sherbert with Strawberry Daiquiri. It features a very sweet and creamy flavor that is all about strawberry, accented with fresh fruit and sour citrus.

This is an excellent strain for morning and daytime use, as it is fairly energizing. It features a very strong and potent aroma. It’s sativa dominant, so it’s going to make you feel energized, talkative, and giggly.

However, it does contain some indica-like effects, so you might start feeling a bit hungry and sleepy a few hours after consuming it. It features a moderate to high 18% to 19% THC level.

Orange Sherbert Strain

Orange Sherbert is a strain created by mixing Purple Urkle, Cherry Pie, and Orange Cream. This is an indica-dominant strain of marijuana that only features a slight hint of sativa.

It’s going to make you feel quite happy and euphoric, but it’s also going to make you feel very relaxed, sedated, tired, and hungry. These buds are very dense, very green, and have a strong purple hue, along with a lot of orange pistils.

This strain features a moderate THC level of 18%, which is ideal for beginners. It features a very strong orange and candy-like flavor.

Purple Sherbert Strain

Purple Sherbert is made by crossing Sunset Sherbert with Purple Kush. This is an indica-dominant hybrid strain. Here you are going to see green buds with violent accents, along with a whole lot of those white trichomes.

Due to its lineage, this is one of the strongest strains today, as it can contain a whopping 28% THC. This is a nighttime strain, and it is absolutely not for the faint of heart. It’s very strong and absolutely not ideal for beginners.

Here, you will feel very relaxed, giggly, sedated, and hungry. In terms of the taste, it’s very strong, it’s sweet and features notes of grape and sage.

Banana Sherbert Strain

Banana Sherbert is another very popular strain, an indica-dominant hybrid strain. This strain is made by mixing Sunset Sherbert with Banana Kush.

Although it is indica dominant, you will feel the sativa side of things, particularly in the beginning, as you will feel a bit energetic, talkative, and creative. However, this will quickly give way to the indica side, mainly relaxation and sedation.

This is another one of these strains that are not for the faint of heart, as it features up to 22% THC. Here, you will taste some banana, plums, and just a lot of sweetness.

Sherbert Gelato Strain

Sherbert Gelato is also known as Gelato Sorbet or Gelato #33. This is a hybrid mix between Sherbert or Sunset Sherbert and Gelato. Due to the addition of Gelato, it is also a fairly well-balanced hybrid strain that will have you feeling effects from both the sativa and the indica side of things.

This is one of the few Sherbert strains where the sativa side of things takes precedence. You’re going to feel energetic, creative, focused, and uplifted. Although, some people do report feeling the indica side of things more, especially about an hour or more after consumption.

One of the main flavors that you are going to taste here is that of tar and fuel.

Kiwi Sherbert Strain

Although the exact lineage here is unknown, you can expect this strain to produce effects from both the sativa and the indica side.

It features a very sweet and creamy flavor, followed by hints of sour Kiwi. Taste a bit of sweetness and skunkiness. Keep in mind that this is an indica-dominant strain, so it should make you feel fairly sedated, relaxed, heavy, and hungry.

Rainbow Sherbert Strain

Rainbow Sherbert is a fairly well-balanced hybrid strain that will have you feeling both the indica and the sativa side of things.

At first, it will make you feel quite focused, creative, inspired, and giggly, although this will then give way to a bit of relaxation and sedation and might also make you feel quite hungry. This is a great strain to choose for its pain-relieving properties.

In terms of flavor, it’s very chemically and fuel-like. It features a fairly low to moderate 18% THC level, so it should be ideal for most people.

Blue Apricot Sherbert Strain

Blue Apricot Sherbert is a mix between sunset Sherbert and Blue Apricot, and this is an indica-dominant strain. As you can tell by the name of it, one of the dominant flavors here is apricot, but you’ll also taste notes of sweetness and citrus.

Sour Sherbert Strain

Sour Sherbert is made by crossing Sunset Sherbert with 7/8 Sour. This is a fairly evenly balanced hybrid strain that is perfectly 50% indica and 50% sativa. Due to this, its effects are very broad.

In the beginning, it can make you feel very energetic, giggly, and focused, which will then give way to relaxation, heaviness, sedation, and hunger. This strain can contain up to 25% THC, so it is fairly strong and therefore not ideal for beginners. It has a very fruity flavor, combined with some hints of sour, mint, and citrus.
