  • Berry Pie is a sativa strain.
  • It can contain up to 23% THC.
  • It has strong cerebral effects.
  • Berry Pie tastes like a sweet, fruity, and berry-like pie.

What is the Berry Pie Strain?

Berry Pie is a special strain, a sativa that produces a strong euphoric head high, which is not only thanks to it being a sativa, but also due to its fairly high THC content.

Due to it being so potent, it’s best reserved for more seasoned smokers who know what to expect from big-time THC levels. This strain was originally bred by Cookies X Seed Junkie Genetics but has since also been bred by other brands.

It’s a cross between Blueberry and Girl Scout Cookies, both of which are very popular in their own rights. Berry Pie is the kind of strain that makes for an ideal wake and bake session when you want to get a buzz going but don’t want to go right back to sleep.

It’s one of those energetic daytime strains that will have you floating up in the clouds.

Berry Pie Strain Appearance

The Berry Pie strain doesn’t look like anything overly special, but as you know, looks can be deceiving. Here you get buds that are irregularly shaped and have a lot of random lumps and protrusions.

They aren’t really round or spade shaped like many other strains. Berry Pie buds also aren’t overly dense, as you can squeeze them and compact them together to a fraction of their original size.

As far as color is concerned, you get a variety of green shades combined with a healthy helping of orange pistils for some nice contrast. These buds, due to their high THC level, also tend to have a thick coating of those sticky white crystals that we all love to see and feel in between our fingers.

Berry Pie Strain Genetics

What can be a bit confusing is that some sources will tell you that Berry Pie is a hybrid, with some even indicating that it is an indica-dominant hybrid.

However, the original breeders intended Berry Pie to be a sativa, or at least sativa dominant. So, depending on the exact parent plants, Berry Pie may be a pure sativa or a sativa-dominant hybrid.

Berry Pie is thought to be a cross between Blueberry and Girl Scout cookies. Blueberry is thought to be a cross between Afghan and Purple Thai, with Girl Scout Cookies being a crossbreed of OG Kush.

Some of these strains do have an indica component, so not all Berry Pie strains may be 100% sativa. That said, as you’ll find out below, the effects that you feel from the Berry Pie strain are definitely sativa leaning.

THC/CBD Content

As for the THC content, this is a fairly powerful strain, as it can contain anywhere from 18% to 23% THC. If you find some buds that have just 18% THC, we’d say that these are ideal for beginners and those who don’t want to get too high.

However, if you are a cannabis veteran, you do probably want to go for the stronger varieties, especially if you are looking for a really strong head high.

The Berry Pie strain may also contain up to 1% CBG, another popular cannabinoid, although it usually contains negligible amounts of CBD, or none at all.

Berry Pie Strain Terpenes

There are three main terpenes contained in the Berry Pie strain, with beta-caryophyllene being the dominant one, followed by limonene and linalool. When combined, these terpenes produce a very sweet and creamy flavor profile, which is one of the things that so many people like about Berry Pie.

Berry Pie Strain Effects

Berry Pie is a fairly hard-hitting sativa, which is why many people use it as a daytime strain, as it won’t put you down for the count.

Right off the bat, you are going to feel a strong cerebral high. It’s something that you can really feel in your head. It’s going to make you happy, euphoric, energetic, creative, talkative, social, and giggly.

It’s a really uplifting strain, which is why many people use it to help treat fatigue, a lack of creativity, or pain. This is not one of those strains where you have to worry about it knocking you out and locking you into your couch.

Berry Pie Strain Reported Flavors

From your first puff, you will notice that Berry Pie is very sweet, fruity, and creamy, but as berries tend to be, also a bit tart and sometimes even citrusy.

The caryophyllene makes this strain really sweet and fruity, with the limonene adding just a hint of zest and citrus to the mix. Many people say that this strain tastes a lot like a fresh blueberry pie, which is likely thanks to the Blueberry strain being one of the parents.

Berry Pie Strain Growing Info

If you want to grow Berry Pie, the good news is that it is a resilient and easy to  grow plant that does well indoors and out. When grown indoors, the flowering period is around eight weeks, so rather short, yet it can produce up to 3 ounces of bud per square foot, which isn’t too shabby at all.

When grown outdoors, expect each plant to produce between 10 and 15 ounces. This strain can reach up to 80 inches tall, so make sure that you have enough space.
