It can contain fairly high THC levels, adding to that indica body high.

If you like tasty and smelly weed, particularly fruity and sweet weed, then Banana OG is a fantastic option. Today, we want to take a closer look at Banana OG to see exactly what it has in store for you.

This may not be a very old strain, but it’s quickly becoming very popular, and it’s all thanks to its taste, aroma, and strong indica high. But before we move on, check out our Banana OG Delta 8 Vape Cartridge!

Key Takeaways

  • Banana OG is an indica-dominant hybrid that smokes like a pure indica.
  • This strain features a smooth, sweet, and fruity flavor, like overripe bananas.
  • With up to 24% THC, this strain will put you to sleep sooner rather than later.

What is the Banana OG Strain?

Banana OG weed is a fairly strong indica-dominant strain. This strain is a cross between classic Banana weed and OG Kush, both of which are also extremely popular. Although this is a hybrid strain, the effects you feel will mostly come from the indica side of things.

Moreover, this is a creeper, which means that you’re not going to feel it right from the first puff. When you take a puff, it will take around 5 or 10 minutes to feel anything.

Because of this, you need to be careful when smoking it, because it’s easy to smoke way too much before you actually feel the high.

That said, it’s really easy to consume too much of it because it tastes nice and features a smooth smoke. One thing that people love about Banana OG is that it’s not harsh on the throat.

Banana OG Strain Appearance

If you look at a bud of Banana OG, you’ll notice that it has a fairly elongated shape. These buds, unlike with many other strains, aren’t round or pebble shaped, but rather quite long and thin. They kind of look like little spades or shovels.

These buds also aren’t very dense, but are rather fluffy. You can squeeze them together a lot to just a fraction of their original size.

As for the color, what you get here are a variety of light to moderate green shades combined with a really healthy helping of bright orange pistils or hairs. You’ll also notice a fairly thick layer of those white crystals that make it sticky, sweet, and so rich and THC.

Banana OG Strain Genetics

OrgnKid, a West Coast Breeder, first created the Banana OG strain by crossing two other very popular strains, which are Banana and OG Kush.

This resulted in an extremely indica-dominant hybrid strain. Technically speaking, Banana OG is 60% indica and 40% sativa, although the effects you will feel from smoking or vaping it are nearly all from the indica side of things.

As for the parent plans, OG Kush is an indica-dominant hybrid that features anywhere between 18% and 22% THC. This is a mix between Lemon Thai, Hindu Kush, and Chemdawg.

We then have Banana, otherwise known as Bananas. This is an indica-dominant strain that can contain anywhere between 17% and 21% THC.

THC/CBD Content

Banana OG can contain anywhere between 18% and 24% THC. It is fairly strong, and even on the lower end of the spectrum, 18% is nothing to look down your nose at. For this reason, it is recommended that beginner smokers go easy on the Banana OG, as it can hit fairly hard.

You also need to keep in mind that this is a creeper, so you’re not going to feel the high until around 5 to 15 minutes after smoking it, which can be dangerous for beginners, because it’s easy to over consume it.

That said, if you are a veteran cannabis connoisseur and you like a strong high, particularly a strong body high that’s going to lock you into your couch, then THC heavy strain could be perfect for you.

The Banana OG strain may also contain up to 1% CBG, although CBD levels are negligible at best.

Banana OG Strain Terpenes

The three top terpenes contained in Banana OG include caryophyllene, limonene, and linalool, which leads it to having a somewhat simple yet strong and pungent flavor profile. You can probably guess what it smells and tastes like based on its name!

Banana OG Strain Effects

Banana OG is one of these strains where you will feel extremely relaxed, heavy, tingling in your limbs, and quite happy too. Although this strain doesn’t produce much of the cerebral head high, it will make you feel calm and relaxed in your head and body.

This strain will sedate you, and after not too long, you’ll want to take a nap, but not before eating about half of your refrigerator. The two main effects that you will feel from this strain are hunger and sedation.

It also happens to be a great option if you have trouble sleeping, if you are in a lot of pain, or if you have a lack of appetite.

If these effects sound right for you, check out our own Banana OG Delta 8 Cartridge. In case you don’t know what delta 8 THC is, here we have an in-depth explanation for you. Also, here we have some tips on how to make your vape cartridges last longer.

Banana OG Strain Growing Info
